can we get this article to be called 'Acer Aspire 502xWLMi'

It could be - but the problem is that I use the 5021, hence I know this works and is tested on that.

The others in the 502x series, while very similar, do have differences (IIRC, one of them has an X600 instead of the X700? etc).

So whilst I'm happy to tell people that this probably applies to others in the 5020 series, I cannot say that for absolutely certain.

Another alternative would be to create a 502x page with a link to this one (the 5021WLMi), and the caveat that "This has only been tested on the 5021WLMi so there may be differences - if so, please report them on this page".

Indeed the only small difference there might be, is the gfx adapter being a x600 or 700 - and the cpu, being a 1.6 or 1.8

Wether you find this a big difference or not ;), one should understand that the impact of this (only having a difference in MHz!!) can hardly have any impact on how software on the system is functioning the differences are just to small to make a link for every aspire within the 500x AND the 502x series

There are a number of other sites (wiki's) which cover both, my advice for renaming this wiki article stays the same.

I've renamed the page from 500x/502x to 502x, as the 500x *is* very different from the 502x series (IIRC, the 500x does not use an ATi chipset, and I've seen odd posts about these on the Slamd64 forums in relation to the 502x).

ok, nice :)

2006-05-18: I have updated the notes on suspend because I believe it now works. Can other people check this (particualy 502x users who don't have a 5021) to make sure that it isn't just a case of "works for me." Many thanks.

[edit] bcm43xx without ndiswarpper

2006-06-25 : You don't need anymore ndiswarpper in order to run the wifi card. Have a look at : http://bcm43xx.berlios.de/ . It works perfectly on my 5020.

2006-07-12 : I disagree - whilst bcm43xx will load fine, until the transmission power problems with the BCM4318 are fixed, it's still not much use (unless you want to sit no more than two metres away from the access point).
